Those days of Sony blocking the cross-platform play for Rocket League are now gone. Sony now allows PS4 players to participate in online matchmake with or against any player in Rocket League as the game now supports full cross-platform play.
Fornite is another title which will support cross-platform play feature and the new policy change will help the developer of these two titles to enable this feature by-default.
Users on different platforms like Xbox One, PC, PS4, Steam and Nintendo Switch can now compete with each other or team up. From now on, users are also going to enjoy the Random Matchmaking feature on cross-platforms.
Head over to the Options under the Main Menu and make sure the check-box against Cross-Platform Play is turned ON. This will enable the option for you to play along with players on other supported platforms like Xbox One, Steam, and Nintendo Switch.
In the announcement from Psyonix (game developer) they said, “because we know how much our community has wanted full cross-platform support for quite some time. It’s because of YOU, our fans and our generous partners on all systems and services that have made this possible in the first place. On behalf of the entire team, THAN YOU for your passion and persistence as we continue to do our best to make Rocket League the best experience we can.”
The gaming community is definitely going to love this announcement. What’s your take on this?
