The Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are supposed to launch in October, this year. Both of these smartphones have been the talk of the town since there has been a lot of rumor surrounding them. Today, the codename of both of these smartphones have been revealed by AOSP which stands for Android Open Source Project.
Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL codename
The Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will have the codenames “blueline” and “crosshatch”. This is nothing new and as per the same tradition of Google using fish names as codenames for their phones. The name “crosshatch” first appeared back in October 2017 but the name “blueline” has been revealed for the first time.
Some reports before this confirmation speculated that there will be a third device with the name “albacore” but the current AOSP updates don’t have much information about any phone with that codename. Maybe Google has planned something for a device that they might launch later or it just might be something that the devs were messing around with.
Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL images
There have been some render leaks for both of these devices and they look quite similar to the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL as you can see in the image. The Pixel 3 looks very similar to the Pixel 2 but the Pixel 3 is supposed to have a bigger 6.2-inch display with a 19:9 aspect ration.
Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL pricing
The Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will have the pricing similar to what the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL had at launch. Unlike the Nexus series, Google considers the Pixel series a premium smartphone lineup and hence the premium prices. But the prices are completely justified since these Pixel phones come with the best camera in a smartphone out there along with the amazing performance since they are optimized and manufactured under direct Google supervision.
The Google Pixel 2 was launched at a price of $649 for the 64GB model while the 128GB model cost $749. The Google Pixel 2, on the other hand, cost $849 for 64GB while the 128GB version cost $949.
This can be the expected pricing for the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Both of these phones will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 chipset and we will see what Google offers in terms of RAM and storage.
