Method 3: Force Uninstall iTunes

Method 4: Uninstall Security Software from the System

Mac system comes with Apple’s own security software to safeguard your system from virus attacks. Step 3: 

Under the Portable Devices option, you would see Apple iPhone or Apple Mobile Device USB Driver or related name.

Step 4:

Just select Update Driver Software option from the menu. This will check for the update of your device’s driver software and if the update is available, you would be able to update the driver.

Once the update is done, Restart your Windows PC and try re-connecting your iPhone back to iTunes.

Windows PC requires Apple Drivers to work with Apple’s applications. The first thing you need to do is close down iTunes app from your Windows PC and try connecting your iPhone to the PC using a compatible data cable.

Step 2: 

Now, go to the Start Menu and search for Device Manager option. Click on to that option.

Step 3:

From the given options, go to Portable Devices and select iPhone Driver and then click on to the Update Drivers option.

Step 4: 

You would be asked to select an option from the page from which you need to select Let me pick from the list of device drivers from my computer.

Step 5: 

The next page will show you some more options, you need to select have disk button.

Step 6:

You would see Install from the Disk Window page that will let you select the folder of the drivers which are existed on your Windows PC.

Step 7: 

Navigate to this path to select and re-install the drivers back to your Windows PC.

c:\program files\common file\apple\mobile device support\drivers\usbaap164.inf or usbaapl.inf.

Note: Make sure you select the right folder where the Apple Driver resides.

Step 8:

Right-click on to the file and it will show you Install button. Click the Install button to the install the fresh version of the Apple Driver Software on your Windows PC.

Step 9:  

Your system will re-install the Driver software itself. Once it is done, kindly disconnect your device from the PC and restart your system. Launch iTunes and try connecting your iPhone.

Method 7: Reset Location and Privacy Settings

There comes a time when you tap on to the wrong option upon asked by the system. When you try to connect an iPhone, you will be displayed with Trust this computer option, if you select a wrong button, your device won’t be recognized by iTunes. To do so, check and reset the Location and Privacy Settings from your iOS device. The following steps will show you how you can reset this setting.

Go to the Apps menu and select the Settings app.
