Even though we did a report about the all-new flagship Acer Predator X27 gaming monitor a while back but another amazing monitor by the same company has been overshadowed by its powerful brother and not getting as much attention as it deserves. This amazing gaming monitor is the Acer Predator Z271UV. It lacks the premium features offered in the Predator X27 like HDR and 4K resolution, however, it’s being marketed as a budget-friendly monitor for all the hardcore gamers who want to upgrade their displays without breaking the bank.
The Acer Predator Z271UV is a budget-friendly 27” gaming monitor with a WQHD resolution boasting a decent 2560 x 1440p. A 1800R curve that will provide a much wider angle of view for the gamers. It also sports a TN panel that supports 400 nits of brightness, wide viewing angles of 170°/170°, and 1000:1 contrast ratio. The panel supports 16.7 million colors and uses a premium quantum dot film which supports 95% of the DCI-P3 and 130% of sRGB color gamuts. The panel on this monitor possesses a response time as low as 1ms and the refresh rate is clocked at 144Hz. However should you choose to overclock it then the refresh rate should go up to 165Hz, but your mileage may vary. Combine all the above-mentioned stats with NVIDIA’s G-Sync and Ultra-Low Motion Blur technologies and you will find that this monitor is the perfect choice for hardcore gamers since it has no problems with motion blur, tearing, and stuttering.
The Predator Z271UV also comes with Tobii eye-tracking feature, which uses built-in infrared lights on the monitor to track your face and head movements along with your eyes. This feature is actually designed to complement the usage of both mouse and keyboard, however, you can forego the usage of a mouse and just pan around the virtual world using your eyes and head just like a VR headset. There are also around 100 different gaming titles that support eye-tracking technology so you can try those out as well.
Gamers will also love the integrated GameView technology which allows them to adjust colors and dark levels on the monitor and save these settings to three different profiles. These profiles can be switched during the gameplay easily without hindering the gameplay experience. Acer’s own features like VisionCare, ComfyView, and BluelightShield are also available that helps to reduce eye strain and fatigue during long hours of gaming sessions.
Acer Predator Z271UV boasts a ZeroFrame design which means there is a quite thin bezel that will greatly improve the viewing experience of people who have a multi-monitor setup. The monitor also has two 7watt speakers built-in with Acer’s TruHarmony technology.
This is all the information that Acer has revealed so far in the press release and we’re still not sure about the pricing or availability of the Z271UV. However, Acer has already stated that it’s supposed to be a wallet-friendly gaming monitor so it should be quite cheap compared to the premium Predator X27 monitor by the company.
